I've noticed that it's doing the same thing on XML-RPC, which causes many offline blog editors to puke. But I didn't realize it was also happening to the main feeds - egads! Hmm... Thunderbird (my preferred feed reader) chokes on the space, and I'm pretty sure it makes it invalid XML. Cheers.
